When we booked our flight for San Diego, I’ve had set my mind on the two places that I wanted to visit. Both are my favorite places and a must-visit each time I go to San Diego. Sadly, I only have time to visit one spot, which I will share in another post. I was supposed to go for snorkeling, but my schedule was changed at the very last minute and I ended up in Coronado for a few hours by myself. Once in a while, it is fun to have a me-time and just enjoy the scenery while Frederick was busy with his things.
I noticed this interesting place called Lil’ Piglets. I have read their reviews on Yelp and when I found the real spot, I decided to give it a try. Coronado was so busy on that Friday noon. Families of the Navy Seals were there and the place was packed with tourists, just like myself. Thankfully, it was easy enough to find an empty seat in the restaurant. The place is more like a balcony-style restaurant, a place where you can enjoy the breezy weather while nomming those delicious BBQ meats. The place also serve a variety of beers, definitely a good companion for the BBQ on sunny days.
I decided to order the ‘BBQ pulled pork kids meal’, along with a portion of curly fries. The server was kind enough to offer me an extra BBQ sauce, though the BBQ was not dry at all. The meat was dry smoked, tender with really nice juice, smothered in their BBQ sauce. I like their choice of sauce – mild, spicy, and a vinegar-based sauce, which you can mix-and-match. Their curly fries was okay, the dish was well-seasoned but not too special. So, if you’re thinking of going BBQ in Coronado, this is the place!
