Confession. I recently fell in love with salted caramel hot chocolate. It happened when I went to the city to meet my client. As I don’t have an office yet, I will meet my clientele in a public place. On that particular day, during the meeting in one of the city, I spotted Ghirardelli’s salted caramel hot chocolate. It was so remarkable and made me craved for it again on the following day.
The week after, I happened to be in the city again. And of course, I did not waste this opportunity and the first thing I did when I arrived in the city is to order the salted caramel hot chocolate again. I felt a bit guilty afterwards and decided that I should learned to make it myself at home, but of course after I got home I completely forgot about it…
… until two days ago. It’s been raining cats and dogs here and as much as I love rain, I don’t enjoy driving in the rain, but yet I keep insisting to move to Seattle, lol. Anyway, the weather was so perfect for a cup of hot chocolate, some cookies, and a good book to read.

Just last weekend, I got a chance to meet Giada De Laurentiis for her new book, Feel Good Food. As always, she’s so cheerful and pretty. I got there at 12.10pm and waited until 1.40pm to finally get my book signed. Williams Sonoma was completely packed and the line ended up outside the store to about 1/2 block around it. It was insane but I was so glad to see her (I’m a fan!). And to share my happiness, you get a chance to win this book, too. It’s signed by Giada and the recipes are amazing. To win the book, simply follow the instruction below.

If you look into my bag, I think you’ll be amazed with how many snacks I have in it. Candy and chocolates are included. Part of it was growing up in a hectic city and spent hours on traffic. I think on average school days, I spent 5 hours in the car. Sad to say, but that still happens to date. Hence, my bag is always filled with something filling. So when I found Warrior Meal during FoodBuzz Festival, I knew this is perfect for my go-to meal.
As it’s said, Core Foods is a full meal to go. That means you just need to eat 1 pack + 2 glasses of water, and that equals to 1 full bowl of oatmeal with 4 hours of stable energy. So, it is completely beyond your regular snacks or candy – it is fresh alternatives to packaged food. My favorite is this Raw Walnut Banana. Check out the nutrition facts and see all the listed ingredients.
Core Foods comes in 2 types – Warrior Meals and Defender Meals. Check out their website and see which one you like because one of The Urban Mrs readers can receive this for free. Here’s how:

How do you start your day? I got that question quite often lately and the answer is pretty simple. I get up at 8 and stay in bed until 8.15, have breakfast that includes waffle, bacon/ sausages or scrambled eggs, and fruits. Nice, isn’t it? However, mine is actually the opposite.
My day starts at 6am, snooze and snooze, check any urgent issues, get ready, and grab breakfast that I have prepared the night before. So, having a nice breakfast is a must. On most days, I usually have toast, muffins, or waffles. However, I added more varieties lately and one of them is this overnight chocolate banana oatmeal. Quick and easy preparation and healthy! It’s definitely a nice treat to start the day.
Overnight Chocolate Oatmeal
- 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 tbs chia seeds
- 1 cup chocolate soy milk
- 1-2 ripe bananas
- Optional: chocolate granola or fresh fruits
- Combine all the ingredient, except chocolate granola or fresh fruits, in a jar. Cover with lid and shake until combined.
- Refrigerate overnight. Top with chocolate granola or fresh fruits in the morning and enjoy!
Now, let’s switch gear to snacking. I tend to snack during the day or in between activities to keep me stay alert. My schedule is pretty packed and I normally don’t get home until 10 at night; hence eating healthy is an absolute.
